ELENA KIRILLOVA

I was born in a family of sailors, my childhood and youth were saturated by the power of the Pacific Ocean and have a major influence on my art.
Every morning, from the window of my room, the port of Vladivostok stimulated my visual art inspiration. Fishing, traveling along the seaside region were the usual traditions of our family.
At the age of seven, I started to study at the school of art located on the shores of the Golden Horn Bay.
My artistic education went on with my studies in South Korea, in the University of Visual Design also situated in the port of the Busan city. Experimenting different directions and techniques was an approach to express always my instinct and the main elements of my inspiration: light, ocean & marine world. Always plunging into my familiar and native ocean legends.
“With the new sun, the first goldfish entered the sea” - In the Far Eastern Asian culture, the fish has multiple meanings: it means good fortune or luck but also abundance. Above all, it is a symbol of the path to success, associated with perseverance in adversity and pugnacity.
Living in Switzerland since 25 years, my journey in the field of art and visual design in Russia and South Korea has been enriched by the experience of being a mother of three children, this great motivation in my life has been the source of inspiration and creativity.
